Hey. Guess what? This Castle Rock show manages to get even weirder. I plowed through a few more episodes of this last week with H. and I'll be damned if I don't keep having more questions than answers. Yeah, some things get answered and just when they do more weird shit happens making more questions. Henry starts having some memories of what happened to his ass when he went missing years ago and goes to this place to talk to one of the guys suspected in his kidnapping. Everything about the place says “Nah...I should probably come with backup” but Henry is the opposite of every Black person you see in horror films so he walks right into danger with his chest out and a song on his lips. This weirdo guy did not kidnap him or anything but has the files associated with his disappearance. He also had his brothers fingers in a jar. In other news the casket carrying Henry's father's corpse that has been moved has turned into goo. So that happened.
The Kid ends up getting his spooky ass out of jail after Henry takes a plea deal but not before that guard talks to him. The guard is freaking the fuck out after Henry told him he was gonna get the Kid free and ends up shooting a bunch of guards before being killed himself. A gun goes off right next to Henry's ear so now he has that to deal with. The Kid ends p moving into a place in the same building a Molly's weird ass. They leave him alone for long periods of time which I so do not understand. One night the Kid wanders into this house where a family is celebrating a birthday for the young son and the closer the Kid gets to them (they don't see the twenty foot tall giant in the hallway!) the angrier and more violent they get. The Kid just watches as they presumably murder one another. Another thing I gotta deal with. This lady Jackie that works with Molly finds the Kid upstairs and hangs out with him and by finds him I mean she finds his bed, lays down, finds a small knife, and the Kid wanders into the room butt booty ass naked and then she is smoking pot in a car with him staring off into the distance.
Alan, the guy boning down with Henry's mother who is losing her marbles, is at a ceremony where they are dedicating a bridge to him. This dog starts barking like crazy and next thing you know Ruth decides to take the Nestea Plunge and jumps off the bridge. Henry dives in to save her. Alan later finds the Kid in the woods near their home and Alan wants none of his spooky shit. He remembers seeing the Kid in the trunk of the car the old warden who killed himself was driving and the Kid has not aged a day. The Kid tells him he can help Ruth with her brain issues if he does something for him. Henry has his son come visit which is the worse timing ever and it is the same child from that It movie because there are only four Black child actors and the other three are girls.
Alan goes and gets the old wardens car from a junkyard after holding a gun on a dude and the Kid is still like “I am weird and will not give you a straight answer.” Henry talks to Molly about having old memories of the trip with his father and she finally admits to killing him by yanking his oxygen tube out his neck hole. Henry freaks the fuck out but she is all like “I only did it because you wanted it to happen so this is kinda like you did it.” Henry ends up using an old camera to trace back steps from a trip with his father and ends up super lost. He stumbles upon these two creepy creeps that he has seen a few other times. Odin is an older deaf dude and his protege/interpreter Willie. They explain that Henry's dad was into some weird religious/science shit with sounds and god and all manner of bullshittery. He shows Henry this special room and locks his dumb ass inside of it. I could not believe he fell for the old “check out this room in my camper hahaha now you're a prisoner” routine.
The Kid is at a mental institution and ends up getting out and setting a fire. Alan finds him on the porch with blood on him. Flashbacks show Ruth and her life with her husband and a young Henry. It goes back and forth between now and then showing her leaving little chess pieces around. She ends up in an argument with a ghost of her husband telling her that she can't change a thing. The Kid is dancing with her, wearing her husbands shit, and gets a bath ready for her. If someone other than your parent is “drawing a bath” shit is not gonna end well. She searches for a gun, finds it, but can't remember where the bullets are. She gets the combination from the Kid but there are no bullets. Turns out they are in the suitcase buried with the dog. Ew! She loads up the gun with these puppy funk bullets and ends up shooting Alan thinking it was the Kid. Is Alan dead? Will Henry be able to leave the world's worst escape room? Will the Kid continue to be spooky as shit?! I'll find out soon.
